You're throwing stones into the water...
One, then one more, and more,
another one has disappeared under the rippled surface...
(1, 2, 5, 11, 23, 47, 95, 191, yet more to come)
You might have been thinking that this will form a bridge in front of you,
or lay a smooth path for your feet.
So you could walk upon it, to and fro, but no - it does not show.
The path's not to be seen, no - it will not show.
(383, 767, 1535, 3071, 6143...)
Then you decide to walk on water,
believing you are unblemished, a saint...
(well, clean for sure)
Somehow the water does not hold you,
and as you make your step and plunge into the water
you feel your foot's been pierced with pain,
that's one of all those stones you threw long time ago.
Now is the time for them to meet with you and pay you back.
Requital's done, but there's still lot of hidden pitfalls under water.
(those stones have formed a hidden reef for you to walk on them)
Tormented, you beg yourself to answer "Why is it so?" and "What for?"
But who could lift so complex reef?
Yeah, who could lift so complex reef?
Who will dare to lift so complex reef?
Passacaglia is one of the loveliest works of mighty JSB. While I adore HB's playing and his wonderful digital instrument as well, I admit that this record is jaw dropping for me. Frank Hadlich
Boston post-punk outfit Junk Ranchers broke up in 1986 before this, their debut album, was released; darkly melodic, it's a long-lost gem. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 22, 2020
Longtime Bay Area punk scene staple Mike Huguenor dials down the noise for a thoughtful record of peaceful electric guitar explorations. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 3, 2020
They played a wonderful set at Summer’s End in October 2018 which was based around this album . For me it was one of the sets of the weekend. The record is a wonderful permanent reminder of the show. Tony Honour
