Once survived, the earthquake witnesses do not need at all to be reminded about "that feeling". That is why this song was initially recorded and premiered at "Lo Sciamano" Music School in Rome on the 9th of November, 2017 in "only grand piano and voice" format. The feeling had to be delivered...
Yet, for this version we added more backing vocals, a trumpet, and a short fragment of the sound of a real earthquake. Believe me: what you hear here is just a safe drop in the sea of terror.
Mother-Earth, deliver us from this...

A new detail has just appeared above your head within a flash.
A black tree has grown up on the soil of careless life at the command.
No blossom can be seen yet, but strong enough to split your life in parts.

The crack above your head responded to the tremors from below.
They came to rearrange some terms and definitions in your life.
If you survive they'll split your life and mark the parts “before” and “after”;
if you don't they'll open up the skies.

You do not want to see clear blue sky appearing behind that crack.
The crack in the ceiling… You want it to remain where it is right now.

You cannot blame that crack for ruining the room design you chose so carefully.
You want it to remain where it is now, and to stay there endlessly.
You neither want to see blue sky by day, nor shining stars by night,
and bend your knees in front of icon-crack.

You summon up the spirits rejected so many moons before.
Would your new faith put your fears to shame and make shakes and tremors stop?

But all things are to end. Awakened by the ticking of the clock,
the king returns from sudden journey to his throne. The door is locked.
And when that endless movement ends the memories remain,
they'll resonate each time you'll hear about the same thing happening elsewhere.

Mikayel Abazyan Yerevan, Armenia

Born on July 9, 1971.
Self-trained playing piano, guitar and later - bass, which allowed me playing and making a few recordings with various bands in Yerevan.
In 2014, joined a special project dedicated to the music of Peter Hammill and Van der Graaf Generator, which brought me back to studio work. Having released yet another successful solo tribute, started producing my own music.
