Words
A bad-love ballad is what I would have expected to appear on my album the least. Still, it is here, and we had good time and a real fun recording and mixing it. “Based on true events”, one would say.
Drawing
It wasn’t an easy task for me to draw “my good old man in his heyday”, so I only drew a symbolic part of him. After all, he is just an imaginary character.
lyrics
First, I offered you a snack and you said “OK!”.
“Fancy a walk?” (I must have been so brave back then) – and I got “OK!” again.
You asked me for some wise advice, and you got it right away.
But for some reason I forgot a warning, a lesson that I was taught
by my good old man in his heyday:
A tiger fucks a tigress, a lion fucks a lioness,
a female spider makes a spider male,
a frog attracts a frog, a dog depends on dogs,
that’s how it used to be up to this day.
And Dinosaur the Antique – he used to be romantic
when, blushing, he approached a Dino-girl.
They choose among their species, have realistic wishes.
Do not forget this golden rule of thumb!
“Get out of my way!” I said. “Let me be!
She looks so beautiful!” I said. “And she likes me!” (so far)
“Give me a reason to doubt her intentions!” I would say.
The reason revealed itself when I remembered
a warning, a lesson that I forgot when
I was driving my dear friends out of my way.
Animals don’t use mirrors, they don’t know what they look like
but never they’re mistaken in their choice.
They know who will reciprocate, they’re sure about whom to relate to,
they are sure about whom to isolate.
I spent months being there by your side.
I thought that you were at least satisfied.
But when the time came for you to visit me
you said... no, you didn’t say anything.
You just kept silent, as if nothing had happened.
You felt, I do believe, some sort of relief
when you bade me farewell.
You must have learned your lessons well,
but I was deaf to hear when Mother-Nature rang that mighty bell.
Born on July 9, 1971.
Self-trained playing piano, guitar and later - bass, which allowed me playing and making a few
recordings with various bands in Yerevan.
In 2014, joined a special project dedicated to the music of Peter Hammill and Van der Graaf Generator, which brought me back to studio work. Having released yet another successful solo tribute, started producing my own music.
